The North Texas Automobile Dealers (NTXAD) encourages consumers to utilize the resources at the links below. NTXAD cannot provide legal advice; however, it can serve as a liaison between dealers and consumers to attempt to resolve problems related to the purchase or service of a vehicle from a franchised new vehicle dealer member within our service area.

Complaints or concerns may be emailed to NTXAD at info@ntxad.com.

Collision Right to Repair

Yes, you do have a choice when it comes to the repair of your vehicle!

As a consumer you have the right to choose your repair shop and the replacement parts for your vehicle. An insurance company may not specify the brand, type, kind, age, vendor, supplier, or condition of parts or products used to repair your auto, but they are not required to pay more than a reasonable amount.

The 2021 Bill of Rights informs a consumer about their rights related to their personal automobile insurance policy and is available in both English and Spanish below.
1. All insurers writing personal automobile insurance policies must provide a copy of the 2021 version with each new personal automobile insurance policy.
2. At the consumer’s request, the insurer may provide an electronic copy in lieu of a hard copy.
3. The insurer must also provide the 2021 version with each renewal notice for personal automobile insurance unless the insurer has previously provided the policy holder with the 2021 version.
4. If a consumer requests the Spanish language version, the insurer must provide it.

Although the rule’s effective date is May 16, 2021, and an insurer may begin using the 2021 Bill of Rights immediately, an insurer is not required to provide the amended Bill of Rights to a policyholder until November 15, 2021.
