Registered Apprenticeship Program

The North Texas Automobile Dealers Registered Apprenticeship for Automotive Technicians is a competency-based program registered as part of the National Apprenticeship System in accordance with the basic standards of apprenticeship established by the Secretary of Labor.

New technologies are driving innovation in the workplace to meet the needs of consumers, employees and industry.  The North Texas Automobile Dealers (NTXAD) Registered Apprenticeship Program for Automotive Service Technician matches qualified students enrolled at community colleges to industry partnering with new automobile franchised dealers service departments for a work-based learning experience where students can earn while they learn.  The competency-based program offers new and incumbent workers enhanced skills through manufacturer’s training programs.

The Registered Apprenticeship program is a work-based learning model that provides the setting for students to learn manufacturer standards and service protocols directly from the service team at a dealership.  Registered apprentices work alongside dealership staff, giving them the opportunity to forge relationships in the workplace.

NTXAD in conjunction with the ASE Education Foundation work alongside local community colleges and high schools throughout North Texas to advance learning and on-the-job training within local dealerships.
